Coffee has always been looked at as a man’s crop and has had limited engagement with the women. Despite the fact that women do a lot of work, they have benefited less from the crop and more work still needs to be done to empower the women farmers along the coffee value chain. Mariam Nandudu had been one of them for many years until she joined Bufumbo Organics Farmers Association.
Our story begins in 1958 in Arezzo, Tuscany, the city where we have our roots, our main office, and from where we see the world.
In 50 years many things had changed for us, but our passion for high quality coffee has never diminished.
We are always closest to coffee producers in various regions of the world.
For us it is very important to keep in touch with those who produce the coffee that we offer to our customers: the quality and traceability that we guarantee are in fact quite different from that which is obtained using the long chain distributors that from the farmers goes to the roaster.
"The elation of coffee, favoured by men with exquisite feel and quick intelligence..." (Paolo Mantegazza)
Although it is so familiar to us, coffee is a relatively recent discovery, having spread to Europe only by the XVI-XVII century.
